We hope 2021 is off to a good start for you! As you know, tax preparation time is upon us, and it's time to begin gathering all of the documents needed to make filing your taxes as easy as possible. Save for a few exceptions, most of you will be receiving tax reporting documents over the course of the next few weeks. If you have enrolled in electronic delivery of tax documents, you will receive an email notification when your document(s) are accessible online. If you have not enrolled in electronic delivery, you will start to receive your documents over the next few weeks by mail. Following is a general timeline for when you can anticipate the documents to be available:
1099-R: Mid to late January. This form reports distributions from IRA, ROTH IRA, SEP-IRA and SIMPLE IRA Accounts.
1099-Q: Mid to late January. This form reports distributions from Education Savings Accounts.
1099-Composite: Early to late February. This form will be generated for Individual, Joint and Trust Accounts.
If you have any questions, do not receive a tax document you were expecting, or if you would like to see if we have a copy in advance please contact Shirlene Luk.
Lastly, we came across an Income Tax Checklist we thought may be helpful when gathering your documents.
Let us know if there is anything we can help with along the way!
